শ্রীশ্রীসীতারামদাস ওঙ্কারনাথদেবের  সমদর্শন প্রসঙ্গে শ্রী জনার্দন চট্টোপাধ্যায় বিরচিত ‘শ্রীশ্রীলীলাচিন্তা’ গ্রন্থে লেখা আছে—

সঙ্গীশিষ্য হরিদাস পাদোদক তরে,
একদা হাজির হল প্রভুর গোচরে।
প্রভু কন “এ-র ভাব ‘গুরু’ সর্বজন,
পত্রে ‘গুরুবিগ্রহেষু’ লিখি সে কারণ।
সকলি যখন এ-র গুরু ভগবান
তাহলে কেমনে করি পাদোদক দান।
স্বেচ্ছাক্রমে পাদোদক দেওয়া হয় যদি
সীতারাম তাহলে যে হবে মিথ্যাবাদী।”
শিষ্য পুনঃ নিবেদিল চরন কমলে-
“গুরুপাদোদক পেয়— শাস্ত্রকার বলে।
তাহলে সে উপদেশ করিতে পালন,
কি করিবে এ অধম কিঙ্করে এখন?”
কহিলেন অবিলম্বে প্রভু লীলাময়—
“গুরুগীতা ঠিক কথা বলেছে নিশ্চয়।
সে এক ভাবের ভাষ শিষ্যের কল্যাণে,
এ এক ভাবের ভাষা বিশ্বের কল্যাণে।
‘সব গুরু’ এই হল আমাদের পথ—
পক্ষান্তরে অতি শুভ তব মনোরথ।
সেহেতু নিয়মরক্ষা সম্মুখেতে করে
করিস যা প্রাণ চায় এ-র অগোচরে।”

ALL IS GURU:

Oneday, a disciple named Haridas came to Thakur Sitaramdas Omkarnathdev for taking Guru’s Charamrita [holy water of His feet]. Thakur stated—“The maxim of this Self is—‘Everyone is My Guru’s image’, and thus everyone is addressed as ‘Guruvigrashu’ in My letters. If every person is an image of Guru/ Lord, then how can I give My Charanamrita to others willingly? If I do that, it will tantamount to falsehood.”
Hearing this, the disciple prayed to Thakur—“Scriptures opine that disciple should drink Guru’s Charanamrita. Thus what should I do now?”
Thakur instantly replied—“Guru Gita has stated that correctly. That declaration is for the welfare of the disciple, and on the other hand, this articulated thought is meant for universal welfare. Our Path is ‘everyone is an image of Guru’—but your desire is also worthwhile. Thus, to strike a balance, you may enact your desire without informing Me about it.”
