"জলপাইগুড়ি বাসী হরিজন গন-
সসংকোচে প্রভুপদে করে নিবেদন-

'এ দীন পতিত গনে রহিবে কি ভুলি
মোদের পল্লীতে নাহি দিবে পদধুলি?'
সানন্দে করেন প্রভু সম্মতি জ্ঞাপন
কারাগার হতে সেথা হল পদার্পণ।
ধাঙ্গড় পল্লীতে আজ কি মহা আনন্দ
উতসবে মেতেছে যেন অধিবাসি বৃন্দ !
চারিদিক মুখরিত নাম সঙ্কীর্তনে --
নরনারী ত্বরা আসি লুটায় চরনে।
প্রণাম গ্রহণ পর্ব হল যবে শেষ,
শুরু হল মধুময় নানা উপদেশ—
“নরনারী পশুপক্ষী সবই তাঁর দেহ,
কেহ নয় ঘৃণ্য বাবা,ছোট নয় কেহ।
তোমরা রয়েছ তাই আছে এ জগৎ
তোমাদের চেয়ে সেবা কে করে মহৎ।
নিয়মিত সবে মিলে হেলায় শ্রদ্ধায়,
মহামন্ত্র সঙ্কীর্তন করিবে সন্ধ্যায়।
নামে আর ভগবানে নাই ব্যাবধান
অবশ্য কৃতার্থ হবে করি নাম গান।
নামের প্রেমের পথ মুক্ত সবা তরে
অবশ্য কৃতার্থ হবে নাম করে করে।”
কহিলেন দয়াময় হরিজন গণে—
“গুরুনাম মহামন্ত্র জপ এক মনে”।
অচিরে নির্দেশ মত নর নারী গণ
ভক্তিভরে ‘গুরু গুরু’ করে উচ্চারণ।
কহিলেন প্রভু পুনঃ ভালবাসা বিনা—
“তোদের না হবে দিতে অপর দক্ষিণা।
সন্ধ্যাকালে সাধ্যমত করিবি কীর্তন
সাধ্যমত মদ্য আদি করিবি বর্জন।”

SITARAM:LOVE INCARNATE!

At Jalpaiguri, Thakur Sitaramdas Omkarnathdev went to the Harijan Palli [the slums of downtrodden castes]. The Harijans had requested Thakur to come to their locality, and Thakur came with His Harinam kirtan. The Harijans had decorated a part of their locality with coloured papers and flowers, where they were chanting Nam. When Thakur arrived, 200-300 men and women rushed to offer Pranam to Thakur’s feet.
Thakur said- ‘Listen, u all have attained joy by getting Sitaram, and Sitaram also have experienced the same joy by getting ur company… Men and women, animais and birds – all comprise HIS Body! No one is petty and no one deserves hatred. Try to gather in dusk and dawn, as per convenience, for chanting Namkirtan, u all will be gratified by this. Lord and Lord’s Name are not different, thus you all will be gratified by chanting Nam certainly.  Brahmins attain a spiritual state by difficult Vedic practices, u all will attain the same blissful state by chanting Nam and holy service… Everyone has the same right [adhikara] on the path of Prema and Naam.” Then Thakur advised them to chant ‘Guru’ Mnatra and ‘Hare Kirishna-‘ Mahamantra sincerely—and the Harijans repeated the Guru mantra with intense devotion. …Thakur thus gave spiritual initiation to the Harijan aspirants, and said- 'keep chanting... try to refrain from addictions.  LOVE is your dakshina...'
